I’m With the Band

Do you remember what you wanted to be as an adult when you were a child?  I do.  Yes, I wanted to be in a band, a rock ‘n’ roll band.  Playing the drums or the guitar in a sweet band was my dream, and once I reached middle scool I thought that I would be able to finally start making the dream a reality.  I was way off.

My dad played the trumpet his whole life, and he wanted me to follow in his foot steps and play the trumpet too.  That meant no drums or guitar, yet.  I must admit I was really good at the trumpet.  First chair was all I knew in middle school band, and not much changed when I got to high school.

Beyonce’s Countdown

Beyonce has amazed us all with her stunning beauty and majestic voice for years. It should come to no surprise that she has done this yet again with a song from her new album “4″. Beyonce’s Countdown is one of my new favorite songs. I was sitting there listening to the same songs over and over again. You know the feeling when you already know exactly what the next ten lyrics and the exact pitch are going to be before it even gets there. That’s when you know that you need to find some new songs to listen to.

I was to that point so I pulled up itunes homepage and started looking through some of the new releases. I scrolled through the albums looking at various artists names and I stopped when I saw Beyonce. I had a flashback to hearing one of her new songs on MTV a few weeks before so I thought that if I heard it again I might recognize it. I remembered it had a catchy chorus so I started listening to the previews, after the second one I found it!

Beyonce’s Countdown was exactly what I was looking for. It was new, unique and nothing like I had ever heard before. I was instantly hooked and I think that you will be too.

Music Is Social

One of the things that I love about music is the fact that it is something that people love to share.  If you are a musician, you do not just simply keep your music to yourself.  You want as many people as possible to hear it and enjoy it.  Keeping music on the down low would mean that you would not have an audience, so what would be the point?  Sharing is fun, especially when you are sharing music.  How are people sharing the music that they love these days?

Google music is here, finally.  Lots of people have been waiting for Google to open up its music service for months, perhaps as an alternative to iTunes, for Android users.  But everyone can use Google Music.  It works a little differently on an Android phone than it does on your desktop.  It is important to note that in order to use Google Music, you’ll need to register a payment method in Google Wallet, whether you actually end of using that or not.  The payment method stays on hand to ensure that a way to pay for purchases is always available.
